The Primary Listing field displays whether a security is primary listed on its stock exchange. There are many “Dual Listed “companies on exchanges around the world who have their Primary Listing elsewhere. The Value of "Is Primary Listing?” is set to either 1 or 0 where 1 indicates the security is a primary listing. This is a boolean field and is rendered as a tick or cross in tables.
Dual Listed shares can sometimes be illiquid or hard to trade.
This field can also be a useful flag for identifying companies eligible for inclusion in tax efficient wrappers like ISAs and SIPPs.
By default dual listed shares are excluded from Stockopedia screens, but can be included by unchecking the “Exclude Dual Listed Shares” option in the screener.
