The 5 Year Free Cash Flow Compound Annual Growth Rate, or CAGR, measures how quickly a company has been growing its Free Cash Flow over the past 5 years.
Free Cash Flow refers to the amount of Cash a company generates from the revenue it brings in, Excluding costs associated with long-term capital investment and adjusted for the impact of Capital Expenditure. It is similar to operating profit but Excludes non-cash items, Capital Expenditure and Accruals.
Free Cash Flow differs from Operating Cash Flow by including the effect of investment activities, though it does include payments for taxes or interest as well as changes in working capital (unlike EBITDA, it does not take into account any cash raised by borrowing or issuing shares). In the long-run, a business must be able to make money from its operations.
