BT Group plc is a United Kingdom-based provider of fixed and mobile telecommunications and related secure digital products, solutions, and services. The Company also provides managed telecommunications, security and network and information technology (IT) infrastructure services to customers across 180 countries. The Company consists of three customer-facing units: Consumer, Business, and Openreach. The Consumer unit serves individuals and families in the United Kingdom. The Business unit covers companies and public services in the United Kingdom and internationally. The Openreach unit is an independently governed, wholly owned subsidiary wholesaling fixed access infrastructure services to its customers over 650 communications providers across the United Kingdom. British Telecommunications plc is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company and encompasses virtually all businesses and assets of the Company. Its technology units build, maintain, and manage its digital and network assets.
